the telephonesは新型コロナウィルスの影響を受け、当初5月に発売予定だったニューアルバムのリリースを延期していたが、11月4日に発売する事が決定した。5年ぶり8枚目のフルアルバムとなる。

また、本日ジャケット写真も公開され、ジャケットはメンバーをモチーフにしたイラストとなっている。
